This article based on data collected by Women for Women’s Human Rightsin a study conducted in eastern Turkey examines laws and practices related to important elements in shaping the context of women’s sexuality including bride prices, polygyny, forced marriages, domestic violence, reproductive health, the possible consequences of extramarital relationships for women, and civil versus religious marriages.
